For Vendors (Store Owners)

If you register as a Vendor on Gweru Marketplace, you gain access to your own business dashboard to manage products, orders, reports, and withdrawals.
As part of marketplace operations, we collect, store, and process certain information related to your vendor account.

a. Vendor Dashboard & Data Collected

When you log in as a vendor, your dashboard will typically include sections such as:

  • Dashboard Overview – showing total sales, marketplace commissions, and net earnings
  • Products – all items you have listed for sale
  • Orders – customer orders related to your products
  • Withdrawals – withdrawal requests and payment history
  • Settings – personal and store preferences
  • Store – public information about your business (store name, address, contact, logo)
  • Payments & Reports – analytics of your performance, date range filters, and sales charts

We collect and store the following vendor data:

  • Store name, logo, and contact details
  • Vendor bio and description
  • Sales and order history
  • Commission and payout records
  • Withdrawal requests and payment method (Bank or EcoCash)
  • Account balance and earnings report
  • Business or tax information (if applicable)

This data is essential to operate your store, track performance, and ensure transparent payments.

b. Vendor Earnings, Commissions & Payouts

Each vendor account includes a balance section that displays:

  • Total sales
  • Marketplace commission (the fee deducted by Gweru Marketplace)
  • Net sales (your earnings after commissions)
  • Orders, products sold, and discounts
  • Earnings performance reports

Marketplace Commission:
Gweru Marketplace charges a commission on each successful sale. The exact percentage may vary by product category or promotional plan and is automatically calculated during each transaction.

Earnings Balance:
Your balance represents the amount available for withdrawal after deducting marketplace commissions and processing fees.

Withdrawals:

  • Vendors can request withdrawals once their balance meets or exceeds the minimum withdrawal threshold set in the vendor account.
  • Withdrawals are processed via Bank Transfer or EcoCash.
  • Processing times and minimum limits may vary and will be displayed in your dashboard.
  • We may retain limited financial data (such as bank account or EcoCash number) strictly for payout processing.

All payout records are securely stored and used solely for accounting, audit, and compliance purposes.

c. How Vendor Data Is Used

We use your vendor data to:

  • Display your store and products publicly
  • Manage orders and communicate with buyers
  • Track your sales, commissions, and performance analytics
  • Process withdrawals and financial settlements
  • Maintain accurate marketplace accounting
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent activity
  • Notify you of policy changes, promotions, or updates

d. Vendor Data Visibility

Your public store page displays information you choose to make visible (such as store name, logo, city, and description).
Private details like your banking or EcoCash information, ID, and internal reports are never shared publicly or with other vendors.

e. Vendor Responsibility

As a vendor, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring your product listings and store details are accurate and lawful
  • Handling customer data (like delivery details) with confidentiality
  • Not using customer contact details for unsolicited marketing or spamming
  • Complying with Zimbabwean e-commerce, consumer protection, and data privacy laws

f. Data Retention for Vendors

Vendor account data (sales, payouts, and reports) is stored:

  • Indefinitely while your store remains active
  • Up to 5 years after closure, for financial and legal record-keeping

If you close your vendor account, we will delete or anonymize non-essential data while retaining necessary records for accounting and dispute resolution.

g. Withdrawal and Commission Transparency

You can view your transaction and commission history directly in your Vendor Dashboard under Reports or Withdraw.
This ensures full transparency regarding:

  • Total sales generated
  • Marketplace commission deducted
  • Net earnings available for withdrawal
  • Pending and completed withdrawal requests

We will also notify vendors via email or dashboard message if there are policy updates affecting commissions or withdrawal processes.
